Deputy Robert Dahlberg pulled Santamaria over for a routine traffic stop, and went to the driver's window. Dahlberg alleged that Santamaria was talking on the phone and reached down near his leg, drew out a handgun and shot himself in the head. Dahlberg then shot him three times in the back.
