Slye Mier's body was found facedown in a field off Ebeenezer Road just east of Crowley the morning after Mier reportedly fled a traffic stop on foot. Mier was wanted in connection with an armed robbery earlier that night. Police allegedly tried to stop the other Mier was riding in, but they say the driver fled on West Jeff Davis in Rayne and ended up underneath the Highway 90 overpass. Police say the two occupants then jumped out the other, and a K-9 was brought in to locate them.
