Benjamin Zanders Jr. died after crashing his other into a residence while being chased by police. According to a press release, Amite police officers called state troopers for assistance with a pursuit of a 2005 Ford Focus on Louisiana 1046 at around 3:30 p.m. Police initially lost site of the Focus, the press release said. However, when troopers arrived, they found the other crashed into a residence near the intersection of Louisiana highways 1046 and 441 in St. Helena Parish.
