There were reports of gunshots fired in the area around 7:30 a.m. Snider was carrying a firearm, repeatedly entering and leaving the neighborhood while shouting and firing his rifle. Police tried to negotiate with Snider without success, and when Snider pointed the firearm at police, he was fired upon.
