Deadly force

Dodd, who was reportedly suicidal, was standing on the overpass of a bridge and told officers he had a gun, police said. An officer shot Dodd in the leg when he allegedly pulled a gun out of his pocket, causing him to fall from the overpass onto the boulevard below, police said. Officials later said that Dodd was carrying a pellet gun.
