A friend called the police because Kimberling was trying to kill herself. After police arrived she barricaded herself in her house. She came out three times. Twice with a handgun. The third time she came out with a shotgun and tried to shoot herself, but couldn't work the trigger. Then she pointed gun at police and they shot her.
