Deadly force

Officers had gone to the house to help with a custody transfer of four children, from Heredia to their mother. The mother was not there, and no one else was outside the house when Heredia was shot, police said. Police were called to the home several times in the two days before the shooting. Police said investigators believe Heredia and Owyhee County Deputy Terry McGrew and Homedale Police Officer Chris Steed fired their guns, but Heredia ended up shot and killed.
