Lane was driving an SUV when he crashed into a tractor-trailer. When police attempted to remove him from the other, he resisted, breaking a rescuer's hand. A trooper tasered him. He died a short time later. Police said he had a head injury from the accident, and final determination of whether the Taser had an effect was apparently never reported by news media.
