Deadly force
Two deputies were investigating a car parked behind a business when the other drove away. Authorities say the deputies tried to pull the car over for several miles before it stopped. Investigators say a man inside the car then started to fight with the officers and was shot and killed. In February 2020, a federal magistrate judge approved a $1.2 million settlement agreement to the family.
