People called 911 to report a man carrying a hatchet and handgun had been seen walking in a sparse residential area. Police tried to negotiate with the man for more than two hours. Police didn't provide information about the number of officers involved in the shooting, the number of times the man was shot or what occurred just before the man was shot and killed.
