Police stopped a other that had been reported stolen on July 31. The driver fled the scene, climbing onto the roof of a shed behind a Fern Drive home. He fired several shots with a handgun from the shed roof, police say. He was shot and killed by Deputy Brooklyn Webb, Layton police Officer Eric Smith and Clinton police Officer Tyler Cunningham.
