Danville police tried to arrest Bennett on an outstanding domestic violence warrant, police said. Over the course of two hours, Danville police tried to arrest Bennett while also reaching out to an off-duty officer that Bennett had a "rapport" with. But it wasn't enough; Bennett shot himself in the head.
