Deadly force
Police said Contreras was running from police after he assaulted and threatened to kill his girlfriend. The man ran into the house on Humboldt Street. An occupant called police. Police said Contreras then pulled a gun on the occupant. Police surrounded the home, and then the suspect came out of the house through the back door. Officers approached the suspect and told him to drop his weapon several times. He was shot and killed when he did not follow directions.
