Deadly force
Police began a chase after a car ran a stop sign and failed to stop for police. Rogers was arrested after a police chase ended near county roads 127 and 381. Rogers was handcuffed in a Wetumka police cruiser, but he managed to get out of his restraint and into a Hughes County deputy's car. Officers said Rogers drove in the direction of a Wetumka police officer, who shot and killed him. Police alleged vehicular assault.
