According to police, Kychaun Hines sped away when they tried to stop his Pontiac at around 2:30 p.m. The car continued for another block or two before crashing into a sign, a tree, and then a wooden light pole. The light pole snapped in half before coming to rest on top of the Pontiac. Hines was pronounced dead at the scene.
