Deadly force
Officers responded to a man with a gun call. Garcia, armed with a rifle, barricaded himself into a house. Officers set up a perimeter. SWAT responded. Garcia shot Detective Jerry Walker, also a SWAT marksman and observer, as he took his position. Multiple officers shot at Garcia, striking him in the head and killing him. Detective Walker was pronounced dead at Denton Medical Center. The Texas Ranger Division investigated.
