Suicide

State troopers and Ionia County deputies responded to a report that a man was outside of a Belding-area home threatening to shoot himself. The man reportedly fled and police learned he might be headed to a residence in Oakfield Township. When police got to the area, troopers said they saw the man in a other and tried to talk to him, but he got out and shot himself in the head. The man, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital and was not expected to survive. Comments in the comment section indicate the man died at a hospital.
