Deadly force
Police investigated a reckless driving complaint and intercepted Kristl in a parked car. A struggle ensued, Kristl pulled a pellet gun and was shot and killed. The Walworth County Deputy has been with the Sheriff's Office for two years, and has a total of six years of police experience. The Elkhorn Police Officer has been with Elkhorn PD for approximately eight years. Deputy Jesse Smith and Elkhorn Police Officer Robert Rayfield were absolved of responsibility in the killing.
