A stolen car was reported. A constable began following the car. Officials chased the car into a parking lot off Airline Drive. The driver fled in the direction of the deputies' car. Four deputies inside the car began firing at the stolen car, which had two people inside. The driver, Michael Maldonado, was killed. Police alleged vehicular assault.
