Police responded to after Dontae Lindsey, 34, allegedly opened fire during an altercation inside a home on Northlawn and fled in a van. Police said they saw and tried to stop Lindsey. A pursuit ensued until police said they lost sight of the van and called it off." According to Wayne County prosecutor Kym Worthy's office, "Shortly thereafter, other (Detroit police) officers in another other saw the van run a red light and crash into a car near Schaefer and Southfield." The car's driver, Patrick Hurling, was killed in the crash.
