Deadly force
Deputies were called to a home by Donald Smith after he threatened to kill himself. Friends said the Smith had been depressed after witnessing his son's death last year in an accident in a garage in which a car fell off a lift and landed on him, and in recent days, he had been diagnosed with cancer. According to police, Smith pointed a gun at officers and was shot and killed.
