Suicide

Two officers from the Chanute Police Department responded to a welfare check on Travis Moore. Officers located Moore sitting in a chair on the deck behind the house, holding a handgun to his head. For more than 10 minutes, officers attempted to calm Moore and repeatedly ordered him to drop the gun. One of the officers attempted to incapacitate him with a Taser, but it failed to subdue him. Moore leaned forward in his chair and fired one shot into his head, killing himself.
