Norristown Police officers responded to a report of suspicious activity around 5:30 a.m. When they arrived they spotted a white Hyundai sedan with five people inside fleeing at a high speed, police said. Police say the other then ran a red light on Hamilton Street at Main Street before it collided with a black Chevrolet Suburban driven by a Montgomery County sheriff's deputy who was off-duty at the time. One unidentified person died in the crash.
