Police were called shortly after 11:30 a.m. for a report of a man walking around carrying a knife. According to police, shots were fired by Deputy Brock Mrdjenovich shortly before noon, and Jason Pero was killed. Police alleged that Pro lunged at the officer while brandishing a butcher knife.
