Police responded just after 11:30 p.m. to a report of possible gunshots near the intersection of Riggenbach and Airport roads. Upon arrival, a number of cars left the area, and police attempted to pull one of them over. As Larry Ruiz-Barreto was fleeing, he struck an officer who shot and killed him. Police alleged vehicular assault.
