Pursuit
About 9:50 a.m., a Crawford police officer saw the driver of a Buick commit a traffic infraction on state Route 17K and tried to pull the car over. The Buick allegedly fled and the police car gave chase with its lights and sirens on. As other traffic tried to pull over to get out of the way of the police car, the driver of the Buick passed a other on the shoulder while the police car passed that other on the left. Then, as the pursuit went around a curve in the road, the Buick crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and struck an oncoming pickup head-on, killing Louis Williams, the driver of the Buick.
This record exists so that Louis F. Williams, and all who are named in this archive, are never reduced to a number.
