About 1:15 p.m., a deputy and a Gilbert police officer were attempting to locate a person who was wanted on a warrant. They found a car believed to be connected with that person, and an individual exited the car and fled on foot. The officers pursued. Jeffrey Golnick was shot and killed, as he pointed a handgun at officers.
