Police responded to a call around 4:10 p.m. about a domestic violence assault with a deadly weapon, police said. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound inside the home, police said. Deputy Sheriff James Hawkins, 35, was killed. James Hawkins' wife, Deputy Sheriff Rataba Hawkins, allegedly shot him after he threatened her with a knife.
