Winn Parish sheriff's deputies responded to Lemoine Road to serve a civil arrest warrant on Kendall Lemoine. Upon the deputies arrival, they saw Kendall Lemoine and Betty Lemoine standing outside the residence, each armed with guns. Shots were exchanged with deputies. Betty Lemoine was killed. Kendall Lemoine was severely wounded and died on April 20.
