A police chase started at 2:20 a.m. when an officer tried to stop Scott D. Homme for a traffic violation. Homme fled and led police on a chase where speeds exceeded 100 miles per hour. Police lost track of the car when the driver apparently turned off his lights. A short time later, police found the wrecked car and body.
