Officers were called to a report of an armed man acting disorderly at Mitchell's Harvest Foods. Officers arrived at around 11:40 p.m. and encountered Steve L. Anderson armed with a knife in the parking lot of the store. Anderson allegedly failed to comply with orders as he moved toward the officers brandishing the knife in his hand. "Just shoot me" he allegedly said. Three Cheney officers shot and killed Steve Anderson.
