Police responded to a other accident at the Quail Valley Apartment Homes. When they arrived to investigate, Dereshia Blackwell was standing outside holding a gun and a knife. When police ordered the woman to drop the weapons, she refused. A police officer tasered Blackwell to no effect. Another officer shot Blackwell at least five times, killing her.
