A driver briefly fled a traffic stop at about 9 a.m., then parked in the lot of a nearby apartment building, police said. A passenger ran out of the other, and allegedly fired a gun at the officer chasing after him. Officers initially lost sight of the man, but later found him in a restroom. Police alleged that the man shot several times as officers approached him, and he was shot and killed.
