Deadly force
Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop of an SUV for reckless driving after 3 a.m. when they encountered gunfire. They chased the other and continued to encounter gunfire. Eventually police used a PIT maneuver to bring the other to a stop. Five officers opened fire on the car. Driver Nicholas Ryan was shot and killed, another person was shot and wounded, and a third was uninjured.
