Deadly force
Martin Allen Goodier allegedly threatened Fire and EMS crews who responded to a crash call. Arriving officers, including Officer R. Heller, confronted Goodier and ordered him to drop a knife he was holding. He allegedly failed to comply, and Heller shot and killed him. Goodier had allegedly been in the travel lanes of a major highway trying to be hit by traffic. He was the cause of the crash call and may have been hit by a other prior to the police arriving.
