About 6 p.m., police got a call about a man with a gun. Family members said that he was having an mental crisis. Officers contacted the man, who got into his car, and fled. Officers reportedly did not pursue him. Officers said they found the car crashed. Three officers found Joshua Vigil at the Fountain Garden Apartments, where they shot him as he pointed a gun at them, hitting him 20 times and killing him.
