Around 12:15 a.m., officers with the Chetopa Police Department served a search warrant after receiving information that there may be possible drug activity at the home. After knocking and announcing their presence, three officers entered the home. As the first officer inside the house made his way down the hallway, he encountered a man brandishing a rifle, and fired three shots, killing Scott Souders.
