Canyon County Sheriff's deputies responded about 8:22 a.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance. During the course of the call, Sidney Holst barricaded himself in the residence. About 1:30 p.m., the man left the back of the home with a handgun. Holst reportedly failed to obey commands and a police dog was sicced on him. He allegedly pointed the gun at officers, and two deputies shot and killed him.
