About 1 a.m., police pulled Cortez Shepherd from his car to conduct a pedestrian check on him. During a struggle, Shepherd allegedly tried to pull a gun from his pocket when he was shot and killed. During the struggle, one of the officers reportedly deployed a Taser, but it had no effect.
