Suicide

Police were dispatched at 12:23 a.m. for a well-being check of a suicidal subject. Officers saw saw Kennedy seated in his car texting while a gun was visible in the center console. Despite multiple reported attempts by the officers to help and multiple orders not to touch the gun, Kennedy abruptly raised the weapon and shot himself in the right temple. Officers Timothy Johnston, Stefan Bjes and David Baquero shot him five more times, but he reportedly died of the self-inflicted gunshot.
