A trooper tried to stop a 1997 Toyota Avalon just before 12:30 a.m. The driver of the car refused to stop, and the trooper pursued. The chase ended as the driver of the car tried to take exit 121 and struck a 2016 Volvo semi trailer that was parked at the rest area. The driver of the Toyota, Whaitarkwoia Tomahn, was killed in the crash. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
