Deadly force

Roger Branson, 59, was allegedly holding his wife, Dawn Branson, hostage around 4:30 p.m. Roger Branson had barricaded himself inside the home and was threatening to harm Dawn. Deputies tried to speak with him, but he began shooting from inside and apparently started a fire inside the home. Deputies tried to make their way inside when Roger began shooting at them with a handgun. Deputies shot and wounded Roger Branson and later found Dawn Branson dead.
