Police got a call of a shooting at 11:35 p.m. A woman had been shot at a residence, and a child was taken from the home by a man. When officers arrived, they found Sherry Wall dying of a gunshot wound. Hillsboro police had seen Josh McLaughlin, with a child at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene along the same street. He shot and killed himself with a handgun inside the church during a standoff. The child was physically unharmed.
