Police were conducting a follow-up investigation on Miguel Angel Mercado Segura for a case of child sexual molestation at an apartment complex about 11:20 p.m. Segura allegedly fled from officers and tried to climb the back fence, three officers jumped on him. One officer saw Segura was holding a semi-auto pistol in his right hand and shouted "Gun." The officers opened fire, killing Segura. They also tasered his mother after she picked up his gun and refused orders to put it down. DA said shooting justified.
