Suicide
Bell Gardens police found two teenagers they were looking for, who immediately fled. One was armed and shot at the officers. Officers fired back at the suspect, who barricaded himself inside a house for several hours. Police fired tear gas and flash-bang grenades at approximately 7:16 p.m. They entered the home and found teenager Andrew Cortez with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot.
