Around 6:58 a.m., police received calls about several shots fired in a residential area. David Kent Heeke had allegedly rammed his wife's other with his pickup, then got out and fired at least one shot at her, police said. She escaped, and officers spotted Heeke's pickup and attempted to pull him over. He led them on a short chase until he crashed into another other. Heeke refused orders to show his hands, and when he lifted up his right hand holding a gun, officers shot, shooting him 31 times and killing him.
