Officers were responding to a ShotSpotter alert just after 1 a.m. when they encountered Lucas Alvarado, a man matching the description of a person with a handgun. Alvarado allegedly pistol-whipped and robbed a woman in a drug house and fired shots into a home. Officers commanded him to take his hands out of his pockets, but Alvarado pulled out the handgun and started firing at officers. Officers shot and killed Alvarado.
