About 10:43 p.m. officers located Jose Luis Rivera's other while conducting a search for the man. Rivera fled on foot after police used spike strips to disable his car, police sent a dog after him. Rivera pulled out a handgun during the chase and shot the dog. The officer shot and killed Rivera.
