Around 9:30 p.m., two masked suspects armed with a pistol and long gun held up the driver of a Dodge Charger and took the car and headed south. A Metro officer began to pursue the other on Murfreesboro Pike, and as the Charger approached the Rutherford County line near Old Hickory Boulevard, it crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a Honda head-on. The alleged driver of the stolen other was injured, and the passenger was killed. The driver of the Honda was also injured. Dariel Jackson, 23, the driver of the carjacked Dodge Charger was charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated robbery & vehicular homicide.
