Deadly force
Deputies chased Rico Robles in a other from Temecula to Aguanga on the morning of April 1. The pursuit started when deputies responded to a call about a stolen trailer, and Robles fled. That pursuit ended near Tule Peak Road and Eastgate Trail in Aguanga when the other became stuck. Robles allegedly backed the other in the general direction of officers, and deputies shot at him. Robles got out of the other and fled, but was later found dead on April 3, near the area where deputies shot him. Police allege vehicular assault.
